High Gloss Finish Recommendations
1. Sand up to at least 800 grit using normal sanding procedures. o Sanding higher than 800 grit may reduce buffing time but excessively high sanding is not necessary. o Make sure the initial sanding grit is very thorough and don’t proceed to another grit until the finish looks even in color under a clear liquid like alcohol or water if wet sanding. o Clean between sanding steps with alcohol for dry sanding and with clean water if wet sanding. o If you see any blotchiness in the color then most likely you will need to go back to a lower grit in that area and work thru the sanding grits again in that area.
2. Apply a small amount of Sattex (Blue) compound to a buffing pad. o A good industrial buffer is recommended. o Sattex (Blue) is available from Diamond Surfaces. o Use a wool pad or synthetic bonnet on your buffer.
3. Buff the surface until a high gloss finish is achieved. o In tight areas where a power tool won’t reach it is possible to apply Sattex (Blue) to a soft towel and hand buff to a gloss.
4. This method of finishing will give a high gloss finish that will last much longer than most other systems. We HIGHLY recommend using this method above others that are in the market place.
5. This finish is recommended for darker colors and where a higher reflective quality is desired. This is considered a premium finish and added charges can be expected.
