Cutting Guide
Please note: There are many other tools and equipment available for this process.
Clamp a guide to your Diamond Surfaces USA (tm) countertop to use to cut straight. Always double check your measurements before cutting. Line your saw up to the guide to begin cutting. You may want to use a hacksaw to start the cut to decrease the chance of the countertop chipping. |
Slowly cut through the countertop. Keep the saw even with the guide and level with the countertop. A carbide tipped blade works well to cut the countertop. The more teeth the better.

Here is what the finished cut looks like.

A mirror seam is used to create a tight joint. This is the recommended seam for most certified installers
Some keys to success in making a mirror seam are to start with a small gap between the countertops to be joined so you don't cut too much material (this is especially important on the 3cm Ready-to-Install countertop material) and to keep the router moving forward.
